I got hyper-sensitive, couperose-prone skin and rosacea. And I used to spend tons of money to get the highest quality face creams to heal my skin, one of them being Biodroga MD skin products. Sometimes I couldn’t afford to buy this brand, so I was ready to give a chance to new cream, expecting not to get irritation.
Hooked on advertisements, I bought many different creams and, after one use, gave them away to my friends or threw them away. Because I couldn’t stop scratching my face until it became beetroot red. My skin gets an allergic reaction to some substances found in most creams. Which one? I still don’t know.
Facial Cream With Collagen (For All Skin Types) By Green Feel’s Cosmetics
And then, I read a few reviews about Green Feel’s Cosmetics products. The products are cheap and have been thoroughly tested by scientific researchers to confirm their effectiveness and applicability for specific skin types and skin problems.
Another reason I tried facial cream with collagen, dedicated for all skin types, was Green Feel’s transparency. They provide detailed information regarding all the ingredients in every product and explain why each component was used.
Facial Cream With Collagen (For All Skin Types) Ingredients:
- Aqua. The most widely used cosmetic ingredient. Water is purified from calcium, iron, and magnesium salts until it becomes pure and active substances for the cream can dissolve.
- Butyrospermum Parkii Butter. Also known as shea butter, this a plant lipid used as an emollient in cosmetics. It intensively nourishes dry and chapped skin.
- Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride. Derived from coconut oil and glycerin, it nourishes and softens skin. Beneficial fatty acids help the skin resist moisture loss and enhance the penetration of key ingredients.
- Cetearyl Alcohol. A substance can be derived naturally or made synthetically. Known to act as a skin softener and stay safe (unlike skin-damaging/drying forms of alcohol such as SD or denatured). It helps to create the right cream consistency (emulsion) and keep cream quality.
- Citric Acid. Derived from citrus fruits, it adjusts the pH of the cream. The cream’s and skin’s pH should match, so the cream doesn’t irritate the skin.
- Dimethicone. Considered synthetic, even though it’s derived from natural silicon. It’s a commonly used emollient known for its gentleness and silky feel. Dimethicone helps protect the skin from harmful external factors (in concentrations of 1-30%). Added to cream formulation, it allows actives to distribute evenly on the skin.
- Ethylhexylglycerin. A skin-softening agent with mild humectant (hydration boosting) properties with preservative capabilities to improve formulary stability.
- Glycerin. It Is a skin-restoring ingredient, meaning it is found naturally in the skin. Glycerin functions as a humectant, helping skin retain moisture. Amounts of 10% or greater aid in skin healing.
- Glyceryl Stearate SE. Derivative of glyceryl stearate that is self-emulsifying (that’s what the “SE” stands for). It ensures a firm consistency of the cream so it can be distributed evenly on the skin.
- Hydrolyzed Collagen. It acts as an intensive skin moisturizer and protects the skin by forming a thin film, and that’s why promoting a dewy, smooth appearance.
- Olus Oil. It’s a complex of vegetable oils obtained from sustainable farming under the rigorous Ecocert Greenlife standard. It’s rich in essential fatty acids and is used as an emollient and moisturizer that forms a lipid barrier on the skin’s surface and prevents water loss.
- Parfum. One or a blend of volatile and/or fragrant plant oils (or synthetically derived oils) that impart aroma and odor to products. It may be irritant to hyper-sensitive skin. P.S. In my case, I don’t feel any irritation. Maybe it’s a deficient quantity of perfume in this cream. Or perhaps it’s perfume derived from natural plants.
- Phenoxyethanol. Even though it’s a synthetic preservative, phenoxyethanol is gentle on the skin. It protects formulas from broad-spectrum pathogenic activity throughout its shelf-life.
- Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil. Also known as sweet almond oil, this is an oil extracted from the seeds of almonds and used as an emollient to help skin retain moisture. It is not known to cause sensitivity; however, it is contraindicated for use by those with nut allergies.
- Sodium Polyacrylate. It’s a versatile, synthetic polymer used as a film-forming agent, emulsion stabilizer, absorbent, thickening agent, and emollient. Sodium Polyacrylate ensures even distribution on the skin and leaves a pleasant feeling after applying it.
- Tocopherol. Tocopherol is the name given to one of four forms of vitamin E.
These four forms are d-alpha-tocopherol, d-alpha-tocopherol acetate, dl-alpha tocopherol, and dl-alpha tocopherol acetate. The “d” prefix indicates that the product was derived from natural sources, such as vegetable oils or wheat germ. The “dl” prefix indicates that the vitamin was created from a synthetic base. Tocopherol is used to stabilize oxygen-sensitive components.
– Paula’ Choice
- Tocopheryl Acetate. A form of vitamin E that protects the natural oils used in the product from the oxidation process. Also, this component is a potent antioxidant that helps protect the skin from aging processes.
Above I placed all the ingredients of Facial Cream With Collagen (For All Skin Types). I suspect that vitamins tocopherol and tocopheryl acetate were used from a synthetic base because the”d” prefix is missing. Still, I got lucky; no irritation at all.
The ingredients were described by following the Cosmoway product description and inspecting each ingredient with Paula’s Choice Beautypedia Ingredient Checker.
